Biography
Llorenç Cerdà obtained the engineering degree in telecommunications in 1993 from Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). He joined the Computer Architecture Department of UPC in 1994, presented the PhD Thesis entitled "Traffic Management of the ABR Service Category in ATM Networks" in january' 2000 and currently he is Associate Professor. His areas of interest include TCP/IP, wireless 802.11 networks, wireless mesh networks, wireless community networks. His research focuses on performance evaluation, analytical models and layers two and three protocol design. He has published a substantial number of papers in international conferences and journals. He has participated in several EU funded research projects (EXPERT, COST-257, MOEBIUS, WIDENS, COST-279, EuroNGI, CONFINE), research projects in collaboration with Nokia (TESI), and the startup SouthWing.

Currently my main research area is related with Wireless Community Networks.
